Blacktip Challenge Shark Fishing Tournament

The Blacktip Challenge is a land-based shark fishing tournament in Florida. We are a conservation based tournament and encourage the release of sharks. The Blacktip Challenge works on a joint research effort with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Cooperative Shark Tagging Program (NOAA), and the International Land-Based Shark Fishing Association (ILSFA).

2012 Tournament

The 2012 Blacktip Challenge will be hosted during the last week of January, between the dates of the 25-29th. The anglers meeting will occur on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 7 p.m. EST. The location of the will be Juno Beach Ocean Park. The official time for "lines in" will be on Thursday January 26th at 12:01 a.m. EST. All fishing must cease on Saturday January 28th at 11:59 p.m. EST. The awards ceremony will occur on Sunday January 29th at Ocean Reef Park located on Singer Island at 1:00 p.m. EST.
